Prints, Prints, Prints are Hot for Fall 2012! But besides the continuous love for the leopard print (which I adore!) Serpentine skin is taking over! According to Doneger Group's Fall 2012 Presentation, "Python is pushing leopard aside." It will be seen in both neutral and surprising colorful hues. This hot skin will be used from jackets to skirts to handbags to footwear! A touch of Serpentine skin to any fall fashion will show your wild side. Not to mention the abundance that will be seen in tons of jewelry accessories!

We first saw this emergence of this trend in the W/F 2011 runway, but now Fall 2012 this skin will be seen everywhere. Celebrities are also embracing their inner snake!

Of course this trend will create controversy because it is an animal's skin, but who says it has to be real! Many retailers such as Forever 21 and H &M have successfully started to sell fake serpentine skin. Check out this snakeskin pattern dress from H & M!

ReplyDeleteI think you make a great point about animal skin not having to be authentic. I did my blog on fur for fall 2012 and like you said, it does not have to be real animal skin to be fabulous! I think the snake skin trend is something that is going to be really in demand next fall. I love leopard print, but snake skin to me is almost more versatile of a skin because it is not as loud of a print,and borders on the neutral category, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about snake skin that is sexy. I can't put my finger on it, but I love it and think that it's about time it came back. Although, in certain ways. Snake skin pants are not something that look good on everyone! haha. Purses and accessories, yes!
