Fashion Night Out

Hey Everyone! Welcome to My Blog! To start this off I figured why not begin with the biggest event that will start all of these great fashion shows in New York City- FASHION NIGHT OUT. This huge event which takes place all around the city (and the world) takes place on September 8th! This is the third year that designers, celebrities, & shoppers get together to have huge parties to celebrate fashion! So get your credit cards ready and clean out your closet! It’s only days away! But where are you going?
Official FNO Website

Still don’t know what is going on well here’s the top 5 places you will want to be!

5.Maybelline - Gansevoort Plaza
Congrats Great Lash Mascara for turning 40 this year! Who doesn’t love getting their make up done! At this location make up artists will give free mini-makeovers! The first 300 guests will receive limited edition “Lash Mascara” T-shirts by Patricia Field. DJ Chelsea will also perform from 8-11PM.

4.Michael Kors- Flagship store at Rockefeller Center
Not only will the store be full of great designs from Mr. Kors himself, but it will also be full of Rockettes. Shoppers will be surrounded with the tunes of a guest DJ as well. The first guests will have a chance to get denim totes signed by Mr. Michael Kors himself!

3. Express- Madison Avenue
“Model for a Minute” Event. From 7-10PM upcoming contestants from America’s Next Top Model will be in the store. Take your picture with one of the models and upload it straight to your Facebook! Have some mock-tails and finger-foods with models! Don’t forget surprise incentives!

2. Teen Vogue- Bleecker Street
All us fashionistas know that Vogue is the Fashion Bible. So why not stop near the Teen Vogue Office. You will take Teen Vogue to the next level on FNO when you experience Essie manicure stations, Arizona Ice Tea street style photo booths, and performances from many artists especially Sky Ferreira. You will also have a chance for Teen Vogue editors to sign your Teen Vogue Handbook!

1.Macy’s-34th street
WOW! WOW! WOW! Macy’s can never let you down on the biggest event of the year!
5:30- Meet Tommy Hilifiger & Joss Stone at the 2nd floor
6:00- Dance Party with celebrity DJ’s and Samantha Ronson hosted by Gucci
6:30- Meet the designer event at the Monet counter
7:00- Shop with supermodel Coca Rocha
7:30- Meet designer Rachel Roy

Exhausted already? Only two hours and all of that to do! Check out more on Macy’s website, but my favorite events at Macy’s 34th street are Kelly Rowland’s appearance in the Dress Department and Miss J Alexander’s shoe seminar!

But no matter what you each decide to do on this FNO I hope you all shop, party, and take in all the fashion!

  1. Last week, I blogged about Fashion's Night Out just as you did, and I had high hopes for the event. However, after the event, I've read several reviews by individuals that were unimpressed by the level of sales success experienced by participating retailers. This is a significant blow seeing that the main purpose of Fashion's Night Out is to render aid (by way of increased sales) to the fashion industry, which is ailing as a result of the recession. One such review, written by Shannon Nelson (of Pierce Mattie Public Relations NY) may be found here: http://www.piercemattiepublicrelations.com/2011/09/fashions_night_out_flop_or_suc.html.

One publication even stated that it is questionable whether Fashion's Night Out should be continued. What do you think?

  2. Thanks so much for your post! I loved your post about FNO as you might see from the comment I just left you! But I think FNO will last for years to come. It is just a great way to celebrate fashion. Why take it away? Even if my experience wasn't great this year, I am still looking forward to next year! But honestly I didn't purchase one thing at the event, I seriously went to stores that were offering free stuff! I can see why the level of sales were unimpressive!
